故事简介

嘉雯(許美珍)自毕业后就加入E-max，一家高科技产品代理公司里做营业员。因为个性脚踏实地，又努力工作，因此被提升为品牌助理。淑玲(蕭伊婷)是嘉雯大学时期的朋友，两人差不多同一时间进E-max。表面上淑玲对待嘉雯很友善，可是暗地里淑玲一直视嘉雯为眼中钉，总是嫉妒嘉雯无论在工作或爱情上的际遇都比自己好。子健在淑玲的蓄意破坏下，向嘉雯提出分手。淑玲趁虚而入，与子健成为一对恋人，嘉雯备受打击，唯有寄情于工作。

美善(沈月婷)是嘉雯中学时代的好友，个性有些神经质，像个傻大姐，但在凌志科技发展公司里的工作却一点也不马虎。子康(唐育书)身为凌志科技发展公司的总经理，是个事业成功的男人，可是却因为让太太知道自己有婚外情而坚持要离婚，子康始终无法挽回婚姻。美善也与一位有妇之夫在一起，美善一直觉得真爱是要牺牲的，所以她一直默默忍受成为第三者的委屈，但这段感情不被子康看好。后来子康开始被美善独特可爱的性格所吸引，要追求美善，可是美善不相信万人迷的子康会喜欢自己。

Ella(蔡佩璇)为了更好的发展，利用凌志的副总经理Jimmy(刘冠伸)，得以进入凌志工作。Jimmy觉得Ella好胜、积极、有自信的性格与自己很相像，两人开始为了各自事业上的目标而互相利用。可是过后Jimmy在一次公事上的出错，为了自保，将责任推给Ella，两人因此而反目。Ella在美善的介绍下最后加入了E-max。

就在嘉雯最沮丧的时候，嘉雯的学弟兼好友逸平(庄仲维)一直陪伴着嘉雯。两人渐渐萌生爱意，但因为逸平年纪比嘉雯小，嘉雯一直都很介意。逸平不离不弃的深情终于感动了嘉雯，可是嘉雯内心深处对子健(袁锦伦)始终念念不忘。逸平知道嘉雯始终没有忘记子健，可是仍然默默守护在嘉雯身边，也努力地配合嘉雯，希望嘉雯能够放下姐弟恋这个枷锁。

Jimmy在Ella离开后，才发现自己已经爱上了Ella。在千辛万苦地向Ella认错道歉以后，Ella终于原谅了Jimmy。两人的关系却因为Ella的母亲去世而再次闹僵。

子健终于发现始终最爱的是嘉雯，最后毅然离开淑玲。淑玲不甘被子健抛弃，认定嘉雯是眼中钉，设计陷害嘉雯。嘉雯被逼辞职。Ella无意中发现淑玲的阴谋，假装投靠淑玲，实则寻找机会教训淑玲。

Upon graduating, Jiawen (Cynthia Koh) joins E-max, a distributor dealing in high-end technology products, as a salesperson. Due to her hardworking and honest nature, within a short period of time, she is promoted to brand assistant. Shuling (Lavin Seow) is a friend of Jiawen’s from university. Both young ladies join E-max approximately around the same time. On the surface, it appears that Shuling is very friendly towards Jiawen. However, she is in fact jealous of the latter because she is doing better than her in both career and love.

Meishan (Phyllis Sim) is Jiawen’s good friend from secondary school. She has a crazy and fun-loving character, but she is a capable assistant of ZiKang’s in Lin Zhi Technologies. ZiKang (Alan Tern) is the senior brand manager at Lin Zhi Technologies with a successful career. However, his wife finds out that he has been unfaithful and insists on divorcing him. ZiKang is unable to save his marriage. Meishan is also having and affair with a married man. She feels that true love is all about sacrifices. Therefore, she carries on suffering in silence as the third party. ZiKang feels that there is no hope for her relationship. Later on, ZiKang begins to feel attracted to Meishan’s lovable and unique character. He wishes to woo her, but Meishan does not believe that a playboy like ZiKang would fall for her.

In order to climb to a higher rank, Ella (Pei Xuan) makes use of Jimmy, an assistant brand manager at Lin Zhi Technologies, to get a position in the company. Jimmy (Kelvin Liew) feels that Ella’s competitive edge, enthusiasm and confidence reminds him of himself. Thus, they begin making use of each other to attain their individual goals in their respective careers. However, Jimmy makes a mistake at work one day and pushes the blame on to Ella to save himself. This causes them to fall out and become enemies.

Ella joins E-max under Meishan’s recommendation. When Shuling pulls a trick to sabotage Jiawen, Ella takes the opportunity to takeover Jiawen’s position. During this time, ZiJian suggests a break-up with Jiawen, because of Shuling’s intentional disparagement. Jiawen suffers yet another blow. When she is at her lowest and most depressed, Jiawen’s junior and good friend, Yiping (Kyo) stays by her side to give her encouragement. They slowly begin to fall in love, but Jiawen has always minded the fact that Yiping is younger than her. Yiping’s persistence and patience finally pays off and moves Jiawen. However, Jiawen still holds a torch for ZiJian (Alan Yun) deep inside. Yiping knows that Jiawen has not forgotten ZiJian, but continues to stay by her side. He compromises and gives in to her, hoping that one day she will break free of the inhibitions of seeing a younger man.

After Ella leaves the company, Jimmy realises that he has fallen in love with her. He tries every way to make amends and apologize to her, and finally gains her forgiveness. One night, they get drunk and end up having sexual intimacy. Soon after, Ella discovers that she is pregnant. Refusing to give up and jeopardize her career, she plans to get an abortion. As a result, she suffers from depression. Jimmy finds out that Ella is pregnant with his child and immediately stops her from going through the abortion. He confesses that he is an orphan and has always wished for a happy family. Jimmy decides to give up a good opportunity for advancement at work, and applies for a long holiday to take care of Ella back in their hometown. Ella deeply appreciates his sincerity. She decides to marry him and keep the baby.

Shuling gets close to her boss Frankie Chen Jinghua and tries her best to please him. She goes so far as to even become his mistress. With her special status, Shuling continuously makes things difficult for Jiawen at work. She even slanders Jiawen behind her back, thus making Frankie distrust Jiawen. Jiawen reaches a point where she can tolerate no more, and decides to retaliate. Ella decides to join hands with Jiawen to deal with Shuling, after some careful consideration. The boss’s wife finds out about Frankie’s affair with Shuling, and Shuling is forced to resign. Shuling is furious and feels that the whole world has done her wrong. One day, she loses control of her emotions and causes the death of her childhood sweetheart. From then onwards, Shuling starts to become mentally unstable.

ZiKang tries his best to change himself so that he can be a better match for Meishan. He works hard to show his love for her through actions, again and again. Meishan is finally moved by his sincerity and agrees to his marriage proposal. Jiawen sees that Ella and Meishan have both found happiness with their life partners, and is happy for them. Yiping proposes to Jiawen, but she hesitates in her answer. At this point, ZiJian realizes that the one he loves most is still Jiawen. He wishes to start afresh with her. Caught between two men who love her, Jiawen is unsure of how she should end this love triangle...

Where The Heart Is

Hong Quan and Aunt Ping have three sons and two daughters. Hong Quan who suffers from heart disease, runs Ah Hong’s Bakery. Aunt Ping, who helps out at the bakery, often pushes her husband to exercise and keep himself healthy so that he will not fall sick and become a burden to the family. Aunt Ping is a great wife who also cooks very well. She loves to whip up sumptuous meals for her children and grandchildren to come home to. Armed with a good sense of propriety, Aunt Ping is the pillar of the household and a strict mother as well.

The eldest son of the Hong family is Jiawen. He is 35 years old, and is cowardly in nature. As a building contractor, he is often making losses because he is too kind to people. To his employees and ‘maid’ Xiumei, he is a wonderful boss who is understanding and kindhearted. However, his wife Ah Ling thinks he is a useless fool who does not know how to earn more money and gain the most from every situation. Ah Ling is a nasty woman who keeps coercing her husband to buy a new condominium. In order to pay off the installments, Jiawen takes on more contract jobs to earn more money. He develops stomach ulcers from working too hard. He is discovered by authorities for employing illegal foreign workers and falls down several floors while trying to get away. Fortunately, luck is on his side and he survives the fall. He awakes from his coma after awhile. Ah Ling decides that Ah Hong’s Bakery is a bottomless gold mine. Thus, she makes her relative Xiumei, who has left their home village, work for her as a maid while paying her very minimum wages. Xiumei looks after Ah Ling’s children, Xiao Jian and Xiao Fang. Ah Ling pretends to not mind the meager salary at the bakery and helps out over there. In fact, she is secretly stealing money from the earnings every day.

The second son of the Hong family is Jiakang. He is 29 years old and ranked third eldest amongst his siblings. He married a beautiful ‘career-woman’ (a hotel PR manager) Yuhan. Yuhan refuses to get pregnant, which frustrates Jiakang who wants to have children. He has no choice but to put up with this. Yuhan makes every decision on her own without consulting Jiakang, even when it comes to something as major as buying an old landed property as an investment. Even though Jiakang is happy for her to make all the decisions, he is sometimes resentful of her being in control. After Yuhan gets pregnant by accident, she has a miscarriage because of work. Jiakang is furious and wages a cold war with his wife because of this. When he goes overseas for work, he meets a ‘business assistant’ Yao Shanshan, who likes him. Jiakang is unable to hold out and ends up having an affair with her. Shanshan is a gentle and traditional woman, and this is a completely different experience for Jiakang. Even though he feels guilt towards Yuhan, the indecisive Jiakang cannot bring himself to leave the kindhearted Shanshan. When Yuhan finds out that her husband has had an affair, she makes the choice to file for divorce. Her ‘westernised’ boss Alan who is from overseas, has always been pursuing Yuhan. When he finds out that she is pregnant with Jiakang’s child, he even expresses his desire to be the child’s father. Even though everyone in the Hong family objects to Jiakang choosing to be with Shanshan, they slowly begin to accept her after she saves Hong Quan’s life when he suffers from a heart attack. When they find out that Yuhan has given birth to Jiakang’s child, they change their minds again and hope that Jiakang can reconcile with Yuhan. Shanshan finds out that Jiakang is still unable to get over Yuhan, and decides to leave him despite her pain. Jiakang begs Yuhan for forgiveness. However, Yuhan has been under the care of Alan throughout her pregnancy till the time of birth of her child. She is caught between two men who love her very much...

Jiajun and Jinhua help each other out amidst the competition in the office, fighting against the various adversities in the company. Being heartbroken over Yuhan, Jiajun finds solace in physical pleasure with Jinhua. Jinhua comes from a poor family and has an elder brother Ah Pao who is a loan shark. Both of them are unfilial children who would refuse to acknowledge their parents for the sake of wealth and riches. When Jinhua discovers that the chairman of Jiang Holdings has an illegitimate son, Weiye, whose identity is still under wraps, she begins to plot her rise to riches. Jinhua is a girl who knows a golden opportunity when she sees one. She pretends to be an innocent and kindhearted girl to get to know Weiye, who is still working as an office attendant. However, Weiye is someone who cannot forgive people who have lied to him. Therefore, Jinhua has to get rid of anyone who can expose her ways. Jiajun becomes a thorn in her eye because of this. When she finds out that Jiajun has borrowed money from her brother after owing large amounts from embezzlement to manipulate the stock market, she hatches an evil plan. With total disregard for their relationships, she knocks her own brother over with a car and makes Jiajun the scapegoat. All the evidence points towards Jiajun, who is in dire financial problems. After Jiajun is put behind bars, Jinhua finally gets her wish granted and becomes the wife of the chairman of Jiang Holdings...

However, she finally realises that Siyu is just a good-for-nothing who does not want to do anything realistic with his life. It is too late for Shuxian to retract her feelings, and she marries him after all. When she has spent all her savings on him, Siyu steals the money she has made from selling her bridal shop. She has been saving this sum for a rainy day, and he spends it all recklessly. Shuxian tries to get away from Siyu and end their marriage, but Siyu accuses her of not being supportive of his dreams. He threatens to throw himself off the building. Shuxian finally gets a good look at what he is like, and opens the window in dejection...

The youngest daughter Shuhui is a 23 year-old, open-minded new-age young lady. She would run away from home after quarreling with her family members. She is even pregnant with her boss, Peter’s child. When she finds out that Peter is unwilling to leave his wife and children because it’s not the right thing to do, she resigns and gets an abortion. Her straightforward nature has her constantly quarreling with her nasty sister-in-law Ah Ling because she just cannot tolerate the way Ah Ling treats the maid Xiumei. Aunt Ping loves her youngest daughter and knows she just cannot live a simple life. All she can do is try to be the peacemaker. Shuhui is like a little bird that has just learnt to fly. She wishes to fly as high and as far away as she can, so she chooses to go overseas to work. When she returns at last, she brings with her an Indian husband Simon. Hong Quan and Aunt Ping are initially disapproving of how Shuhui has gotten married without even informing them. However, Simon wakes up early every morning to help Hong Quan bake bread and cakes at the bakery. Hong Quan realises that his Indian son-in-law is an honest man who is keen to learn. He begins to come to terms with this inter-racial marriage. Hong Quan teaches Simon the family recipes for baking cakes for the bakery. At this point, Jiajun is released from prison and needs a job. The whole family works together in unity to run a refurbished, modern bakery...

Love Is All Around

The story begins when Zhuang JiaWei and his girlfriend Kaiqi, join a tour group led by tour guide, Fu Xiaoyue. Zhuang JiaWei is a sentimental and romantic young man, who has been dating his girlfriend for 7 years. Fu Xiaoyue is a young lady who is idealistic in love, and has a boyfriend she has been seeing for more than a year. She had wanted to take the chance to give her boyfriend a surprise during this tour assignment, because he is also traveling for work. Thus, Xiaoyue hides herself in her boyfriend’s hotel room, planning to give him a pleasant surprise. However, to her shock, he walks into the room with his arm around his new girlfriend. Xiaoyue is caught by surprise and does not know what to do. Her first instinct is to flee the scene without being discovered. The only way for her to get away is to climb out of the balcony like a fugitive. Just as she is about to escape, she is discovered by Zhuang JiaWei in the adjoining hotel room! Alerted by the commotion, Xiaoyue’s boyfriend walks out onto the balcony and sees her caught in an awkward position between two balconies with her face flushed with embarrassment. Soon after the incident, he takes the opportunity to suggest that they break up.

            A heart-broken Xiaoyue vents her frustration on Zhuang JiaWei, which also results in Kaiqi breaking up with the latter. Therefore, Xiaoyue and JiaWei become enemies. On their way back from the tour, they happen to be on a tour bus with criminals on board. As their bus gets hijacked and speeds dangerously along the highways, Xiaoyue has an epiphany as she sees her life flash before her eyes. In the moment of danger, she realises that she has never experienced true romance and her life may end any minute before she does. Her heart is filled with regret and her eyes well up with tears. The sentimental JiaWei is moved by her tears and impulsively promises that he will marry her if they survive this ordeal! Their fellow passengers on board overhear this and are delighted to be witnesses for this display of romance amidst grave danger. The criminals are subdued in the end. Suddenly, JiaWei and Xiaoyue are thrown into the limelight and become the centre of the media’s attention. Headlines like “Romance blooms on hijacked bus” are popping up everywhere. The public who loves soap-drama is lapping up news of their progress like a hungry fan club. The two young strangers are stuck on a rollercoaster ride they cannot seem to get off...

            JiaWei and Xiaoyue get married after dating for 7 days. They share a happy marriage but are somehow unable to say, “I love you” to each other! Perhaps their time together was too short. Gradually, they start to discover that they do not understand each other well at all, especially when Xiaoyue encounters her hard-to-please mother-in-law, Fengjiao.             When Fengjiao’s husband passed away many years ago, she raised the family on her own with her immense willpower and never-say-die spirit. In recent years, she has handed the business down to her children and retired behind the scenes. When Xiaoyue marries JiaWei and joins the family, war between the elder womenfolk and her is declared. When Kaiqi finds out that JiaWei is meeting up with Xiaoyue behind her back, she starts to go crazy with fury... and slowly follows in her mother’s footsteps.             The eldest daughter in the Zhuang family, Meimei is a typical career woman. She is beautiful, intelligent, self-confident and a feminist as well.             The third daughter of the Zhuang family, Zhuang Xiao Ai, is lively, sporty and an extrovert. She is blessed with a glib tongue and everyone loves her. Xiao Ai wishes to be an artiste. She also has many admirers who are trying to court her. She gets to know Xinghan from a chance encounter and develops a crush on him.  When she finds out that her elder sister Meimei is in love with Xinghan, the two sisters fall out over this. Xiao Ai has a male friend (Zhang Yufan) with whom she is very close to. Their friendship is so strong that they’re like sisters.
